We started to use RO instead of FURO that we had been using since spring.
RO is a kind of brazier that is settled in the hollow place made under the tatami mat.

In tea ceremonies, we use various kinds of shelves according to occasion and season. The tradition of using shelves in tea ceremonies began in middle 13th century, when a Japanese high-class priest brought it from China.

The shelf in the photos is SHIN-DAISU lacquered in black.
We use SHIN DAISU only in the most formal circumstances.
In December we practice how to serve tea on new year's day using this shelf .
