Traditional summer festival

In Japan many of the regional communities hold their original festival in summer.
My town people celebrate the summer festival in Japanese traditional style.
The following pictures are what I took by QCAM and sent through ISpy

This is called
DASHI in Japanese.
It is similar to
FLOAT in English.

People play
historical musical instruments
on it
and it is tugged
by people.

This is called
MIKOSHI in Japanese.
MIKOSHI is not tugged
but carried by people
on their shoulders.

I hear that this is so heavy that it needs at least fifty people to carry.

This is smaller one.
They are lifting it up
to celebrate
the finale of
this year's
summer festival
