Aeginetia Indica

Nanban-giseru (Japanese name ) means a Westerner's pipe.
Aeginetia Indica
This is a parasitic plant. They are parasitic mainly on the root of Japanese pampas grass and Japanese ginger. Height is only about 15 cm. As the Japanese name tells, its shape is rare and quite different from the other flowers.
Judging from old poetrys that this flower was sung to (though in another name), it seems that they have been in Japan since ancient times.
